- Age – Must qualify for non-regular retired pay by age 60.
- Physical – Must meet height/weight and current medical requirements.
- Education – Must meet education standards for the MOS or option for which you enlist.
- Background – Must have most current DD 214, NGB22 or discharge order and have an approved DD Form 368 Conditional Release.
- PS personnel who have completed Army Basic Combat Training, U.S. Marine Corps Basic Training, U.S. Air Force (USAF) Special Operations Forces training, U.S. Navy Special Operations Forces training, or USAF Security Forces training and who have more than a five year break in service may be required to attend Prior Service-Army Integration Course (PS-AIC), Basic Combat Training (BCT), or One Station Unit Training (OSUT).
- PS enlistees (including Officer Candidate School (OCS) and Warrant Officer OCS (WOCS)) who have not successfully completed an Army BCT, Warrior Transition Course, or U.S. Marine Corps (BCT) Course, or have not completed training for Air Force or NAVY Special Operation Forces, or Air Force Security police during previous military service must enter on IADT within 180 days after enlistment in the USAR or ARNG and successfully complete BCT conducted by the Army. Soldiers who fail to attend BCT within 180 days after entry are required to return to MEPS to be rescheduled for this training. Members enlisting into the USAR or ARNG that require BCT must be processed through the MEPS. Members that are required to attend BCT and retraining into a new MOS will attend BCT first. After completion of BCT, the unit of assignment will schedule to attend appropriate MOS training.

Prior Service Enlistment Bonus
If you enlist into a critical skill MOS, you may eligible for the Prior Service Enlistment Bonus (PSEB). To find out which positions are currently available in your state, contact your local recruiter.
Enlisted Affiliation Bonus (Army)
The Enlisted Affiliation Bonus is offered to current enlisted service members who affiliate directly into a critical vacancy in the DC Army National Guard from the Active Army.
Officer Affiliation Bonus (Army)
The Officer Affiliation Bonus (OAFB) is offered to officers and warrant officers who are currently on Active Duty and who agree to affiliate into DC Army National Guard into a critical skill position.
Re-enlistment Extension Bonus
Current DC Army National Guard Soldiers, both deployed and at home, who extend or immediately re-enlist may be eligible for the Re-enlistment Extension Bonus (REB).
Enlisted MOS Conversion Bonus
Current DC Army National Guard Soldiers who volunteer to retrain into a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) that the Guard has identified as having a shortage of trained and qualified personnel are eligible.
Officer Accession Bonus
The Officer Accession Bonus (OAB) is offered to newly commissioned officers and newly appointed warrant officers who serve in a traditional status in the DC Army National Guard. If you’re a current Guard enlisted Soldier who has never before held any commission as an officer or appointment as a warrant officer and accepts commission or appointment into a critical skill position, you may qualify.
